Are Winter Bespoke Suits and Summer Bespoke Suits different?
The answer is a clear yes.
We have summarised below what would look for in a winter bespoke suit and a summer bespoke suit respectively:
Material: Here, you may wish to opt for a luxury mohair fabric, which will keep you cooler in summer or perhaps a super 120 wool.
Weight: Typically you’d be looking for an 8 to 10oz material.
Lining: Here, you could opt for a half suit lining or even no lining. At Lord James, our tailors can accommodate either.
Weight: We would advise a 10-12 oz or even 12oz+ weight for a warm winter durable bespoke suit.
Lining: A full lining.
Finish: We should also mention the style of the suit. A few years ago, we wouldn’t have highlighted this option, but we thought that we should mention the double breasted suit which is ideal for cold winters and has made a bit of a comeback over the past decade.
Another option which is ideal for winter is a tweed bespoke sports jacket for evenings or weekends.
